2.1 Questions

1- when the forces of nature combine to become destructive including tropical cyclones and storms, floods, bushfires, droughts, earthquakes, landslides and tsunamis
2- a natural disasters effect people while a natural hazard is a natural force
3- those related to weather and climate factors-drought, flood, heat waves, brushfires, strong winds, storms, tropical cyclones and tornadoes
those related to movements in the Earth's crust-landslides, each tremors, earthquakes and tsunamis
4- Drought, floods, bush fires, strong winds

5- Because these natural hazards that occur in densely populated areas where they have more chance of becoming a natural disaster
6- Farmers have less money to spend and loss of crops and livestock

Economic impacts- loss of income for people or damage to an industry
Environmental impacts- destruction from the natural and human environment
8- The reason they study the nature and impacts of natural hazards is to prepare because Australia has so many unique animals
9-They are used to describe what areas are going to be hit by specific Natural Hazards and by doing so prepares the human population
10- a) Tropical cyclone, flood, bushfire
b) Heat waves
11- a) If the local council used the information that was in 2.3 they could prepare for what damage was about to happen. By doing so would save many lives and prevent deaths. They would inform local civilians to get ready.
b) State governments find out what they have to prepare for and find out what is going to happen in there states. For example Queensland could be hit with floods while NSW gets hit with cyclones.
c) If emergency services got this information they would be able to send out specific help to different areas with emergency equipment and special aids.
d) If insurance companies found out about this they would make sure that all people where insured in case they were injured or if there homes were destroyed. This would be extremely helpful in dangerous cases.
